Seaview Holiday Park
You wake to the sound of waves.
Not through an app. Not once a year. Every morning you choose to be here.
The curtains are open because last night you didn't want to lose the view. The Kent coast stretches wide from your window - Whitstable to your left, Herne Bay to your right. This place, right between the two, feels like the bit everyone else rushes past but you've learned to stay in.
The heating kicked in while you slept. Double-glazed, central-heated, the caravan holds warmth the way older models never did. The kettle's on, the decking's drying in the morning sun, and by lunchtime you'll be out there with a book, watching people arrive for the weekend while you're already home.
That's the thing nobody tells you. Owning here isn't about the two weeks in August. It's about the Tuesday in May when you finish work early and you're here by 4pm. It's the Sunday morning when the kids are at the adventure playground before breakfast because they didn't want to wait. The outdoor pool opens in April – not June like most places – and by September, when everyone else is packing up, you're still here making the season last.
You're fifteen minutes from Canterbury when you want history. Five minutes from Whitstable when you want that low-key, artsy vibe. But most of the time, you don't leave. Because the best days here are the ones where you do very little. Where the sea's right there, the facilities are right here, and the life you built somewhere else feels pauseable.
Not a holiday. Something steadier than that.
A place you come back to because it's yours.
